Just because these wedding venues are cheap, it doesn’t mean they’re not fairy-tale worthy.
Your wedding venue will likely take up the largest slice of your budget, almost half, potentially. And it will play a significant role in the look, and feel of your big day, which is why couples typically book their wedding venue first, at the very beginning of their planning journey.
Knowing how much their choice will dictate the aesthetic, and the amount they’ve got to spend on the rest of the celebration. If your budget is tight, or you’re not willing to splash too much cash on a venue, worry not. There are so many affordable Cotswold wedding venues that look anything but cheap. Beautiful spaces that would make the perfect place to tie the knot, without breaking the bank.

Stratton House Hotel has three wedding packages available, each with a capacity of up to 50 guests. Starting from just £4,250, including everything you could need to tie the knot in style. This may not be one of the most affordable, or ‘cheap’ Cotswold wedding venues. But its package options make it very appealing for those on a budget. When booking a venue solely as a space, and then arranging your own suppliers, it can be more difficult to keep the numbers down.
Not only will you have to negotiate with every supplier, but you’ll also need to ensure everything you need is booked. Without going into the red. Going all-inclusive will stop you from overspending, and save stress over negotiation.
Beyond the price, Stratton House Hotel is an elegant 17th Century hotel that artfully blends period features with modern details, and amenities. Located on the outskirts of Cirencester, you’ll find nature all around, with many indoor and outdoor places to celebrate in.
The Great Tythe Barn
A key tip for making any of our beautiful Cotswold wedding venues affordable, is to marry off-peak. Whether you choose a winter wedding instead of a summer one, or go for a midweek celebration, you’ll be saving money. Get married on a Wednesday, or a Sunday, in December and you could be paying less than half what you would in July/August. And The Great Tythe Barn would look stunning decked out for a festive wedding!

This award-winning 16th century barn wedding venue is ideal for those looking for something a little rustic, but with up-to-date features. It is surrounded by quaint old farm buildings, which gives it a charming rural feel, while also offering plenty of chic spots for accommodation. With B&B rooms and cottages all available on-site. This historic Tythe barn has a capacity for up to 200 dining guests, and 350 for evening receptions. Making it one of the larger spaces on our list.
The Great Tythe Barn looks sumptuous, luxurious and a cut above the average. But, it can be snapped up for as little as £3,200 for a Sunday wedding in January, February, or March 2024. We understand that may not make it the cheapest wedding venue in the world. But if you want to splash out on luxury suppliers, and venue, but don’t have the budget for both, this is the perfect midweek/out-of-season compromise.
